First Class Corey Clagett has been tentatively changed to Jan. 25 at 8:30
a.m., Fort Campbell officials announced today. Clagett's trial date had
been set for Jan. 29, with a motions hearing scheduled for Jan. 27. Fort Campbell officials did
not say why the date had been changed. Clagett is one of four
soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment charged in
connection with the May 9 shooting deaths of three Iraqi detainees. Clagett is charged with
premeditated murder, conspiracy to commit premeditated murder and various
other violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Two other soldiers in the
case, Spc. William Hunsaker and Spc. Justin Graber, have pleaded guilty in the
case. Hunsaker pleaded guilty to
conspiracy, attempted murder, murder and obstruction of justice. He was
sentenced to 18 years in prison, reduction in rank to an E-1, forfeiture of
all pay and allowances and a dishonorable discharge. Graber pleaded guilty to
aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon. He was sentenced to nine months
in prison and reduction in rank to an E-1. A fourth soldier, Staff Sgt.
